BANGKOK, Thailand (June 20, 2012) — In keeping with Sukosol Hotels’ reputation for showcasing world-class talent, we are proud to welcome back Harvard’s very own Din & Tonics (aka the ‘Dins’) from July 15–17 live in the City of Angels at two or our premier city properties.
This signature all-male a cappella singing group is known around the world for its rich tradition of musical and performance excellence. With a repertoire centred on American jazz standards of the 1920s, ‘30s, and ‘40s, these spiffy Ivy League gentlemen—who perform in white tie, tails, and lime green socks—have garnered a large following thanks to their impeccable musicality, snappy choreography and hilarious antics.
Since 1979 the Dins have been delighting audiences by combining the traditional with the unexpected; consistently adding original, humorous, engaging choreography to perform a cappella ‘with a twist’. The Dins have performed at Fenway Park, recorded an album in the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, appeared in the Hollywood flick ‘Mona Lisa Smile’, on the TV Shows Good Morning America and The Price is Right, entertained former U.S. President Bill Clinton and even wowed the socks off Ella Fitzgerald!
Embarking on their twelfth world tour, the group’s repertoire will include ‘McDonald's Girl’, ‘Ring-A-Ding-Ding’, ‘Danny Boy’, ‘Puttin' on the Ritz’, ‘Sir Duke’, ‘The Lady is a Tramp’, ‘Scarborough Fair’ and ‘Barber of Seville Overture’, just to name a few.
For three exclusive nights the Dins will be performing in Bangkok for Sukosol Hotels. On Sunday (July 15) at 7:00 p.m. they’ll perform at our group’s newest property, The Sukosol. This exclusive event (Bht 900++) features one hour of free-flow sunset cocktails and canapés overlooking the Chao Phraya River whilst the boys croon. Afterwards savour a 15% discount on dining at the Deco Bar & Bistro.
Alternatively, The Sukosol will host the boys on Monday and Tuesday night (July 16–17) at 8:30 p.m. in the newly opened Sapphire Bar. The basic entry price of Bht 500 nett entitles all attendees to one standard cocktail. We also have a ‘dine & show’ package available, including the performance, cocktail and gourmet Mediterranean buffet dinner at Primavera Italian Restaurant for Bht 1,100 nett.
